Food Services

The mission of the Mesa Vista Cafeteria Program is to provide nutritious meals for students in a warm and friendly atmosphere while meeting the nutritional requirements set forth by the New Mexico State Department of Education and the USDA.

Mesa Vista Consolidated School District is currently a Provision 2 school. Provision 2 schools allow students to receive one breakfast and one lunch free of charge regardless of income.

Students who participate in school lunch or breakfast are assured to receive a nutritional balanced meal. More variety (as established by dietary guidelines) is easy to achieve through school meals. The federal government mandates how many calories & nutrients each child’s meal has based upon their age group.

Breakfast is served in all cafeterias daily before school.

Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day!

Studies have shown that students, who start their day with breakfast, perform better in their studies and athletics.

The National Lunch Program is partially funded by the federal government, based on the income of each child’s family. Adults are not subsidized at all, that is why they are required to pay.

The cost for adult meals is as follows:

Breakfast

Adult Staff $2.00
